| I've never been to AAC, but I live about 7 hours north. In Feb, it is generally pretty cold. This winter has been an exception for the most part, but generally outdoor activities require a jacket and gloves in Feb.

| | Yes it's chilly! It's the middle of winter in the great smoky mountains at about 3k feet elevation! There is even a couple of feet of snow at the tunnel. But since we live in a region with dozens of ski resorts.. everyone already has good gear for the cold. Imagine... the snow is falling, falling everywhere, big white chunky flakes...... but the air is on and you go fly..all around you, but not on you, the snow is falling.. you look up and you can see it coming down while you are flying up! Amazing... step outside the column, catch a snowflake on your tongue.. hop back in and keep flying. Fly while watching your friends stand just outside the column... snow is accumulating on their helmet so you invite them in! POOOF..helmet snow gone, happy friend... and the two of you can watch it snow together... yeah... walls keep you from having that sort of wonderful experience...

| It's not that cold! There hasn't been two feet of snow at AAC in the last decade. Even if there was, it would melt away within two days. What do you wear when you go skiing, then? You have to wear layers of clothes, good gloves and just bundle up! One can fly comfortably at AAC if you wear protective clothing and cover your exposed skin. We have flown as low as 28 degrees F without a problem. Half the days of January and February have been 50 and 60 degrees F and sunny. This is perfect for flying! So check the weather before you come and fly at AAC winter, spring, summer or fall...You won't regret it!
