Hey

What sounds are you all in to? I have a really wide range of music tastes from trance, dance and other forms of electronica - right through to classical music, in fact I have over 200 classical music albums. However if someone had to ask me what, predominantly I was "in to" I would still be inclined to say "electronica" .. if you don't know what I mean go and listen to the music from www.di.fm and if you are feeling like I do at the moment - select the Chill Out channel.

Anyway, why am I asking. Well, you know, now and then I hear a track that would absolutely be perfectly suited to a piece of tunnel videography. I always think I must make a note of that, but by and large never get round to it. But I wonder how different people, with differing music tastes would go about choosing a piece of music for any given videoclip and what that music would say to YOU. It would interesting to get 1 video clip, 10 music tracks and run a poll to see who would choose what sound track. Well ok, it would be interesting for me.

I have often thought you can tell a lot about a person from their music tastes, but that could just be crap. Anyway, sorry to ramble.

J

I would have to say I am with you James! I like all different types of music. Techno, Rock, Rap, Jazz, some classical I am ALWAYS looking for new music to put to tunnel videos, so give me some good ideas everyone. Especially RIGHT NOW, I am looking for ANY royalty free music to be included in my Film. If any of you know of any bands, or Djs that either write or mix their own stuff PLEASE let me know I am hard core on the hunt for good music that I can use in this Documentary.

Shane,

Check with Down Til Now about their music.  They have used skydiving sounds clips from our videographers in some of their studio songs, so they are very skydiver friendly.  That makes me think they are probably also tunnel flyer friendly and since they are a local band, they are in it for the love of the music and not necessarily for the big bucks.  They are mostly rock music.  I hope that helps.

Mainly indie and punk.

Not sure they are completely global yet, but fav band at moment has to be Arctic Monkeys, very good band.

Also stuff like the Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Foo Fighters etc.

I have to admit to being a bit of a dance / trance monkey..

I'm one of those people that can listen to 'anything' and enjoy it as long as it's got a good sound.

The music I listen to depends very much on my mood, sometimes i'll listen to ambient, or house, or rock (most genres) ..

I'm really liking the Hard-Fi - Stars of CCTV album at the moment..
