They flew with props, multiple flyers, and silenced an entire arena. It was just enough to capture the imagination of millions. In the US alone, 14 million people watched the closing ceremonies with the flight portion lasting about 8 minutes. This is huge for the industry.
Just like you guys, I was so excited I could hardly sleep that night. Such a feeling of anticipation.

Congratulations to everyone who flew for this event. You represented the sport with style and made us all proud. If you're ever in Vegas I would be honored to fly with you.

"Share the Love"
Keith

RE: Closing Ceremonies 2006

Just seen the video, amazing flying .. It was SUCH A BEAUTIFUL display of everything that is important to me about wind tunnel flying!

They did all the traditional tunnelflying and did so well!! I am SO PROUD TO BE A TUNNELRAT and so proud that I fly just like them!!!! I was reminded several times of classic flyaway footage and was extra proud knowing that these guys are new to the industry and did such a fabulous job of showing the world exactly what we're all about!

Closing Ceremonies 2006

I would like to be the first to tell the guys from Latvia that they ALL did AMAZING!!!! Last night, history in VWTs did really change when NBC, and probably a million other TV stations around the globe aired the Latvian dudes ripping it up in an outdoor VWT CENTER STAGE in Olympic stadium!!!! I mean I almost cried, I keep telling all my freinds that this is the year for bodyflying, and that right there just proved my point. You Latvian guys rock! BEAUTIFUL FLYING! CONGRATULATIONS!!! REAL Bodyflight at it's BEST!
