I have never seen any pics or especially video of anyone freeflying in Aerokart. I am sure it is fast enough. They have a chamber that was made especially for it supposedley below where the four wayers are at. So anyone ever done it/seen it? Have any pics? Has there never been any bigway freefly stuff in Aerokart??

Although some free flying is attempted in the normal section of the AK tunnel and is ok, the best free flying is achieved when they remove the middle net which allow access to the lower chamber. This is the perspex section you see when you go up to the tunnel flight chamber.

We have flown this section of the tunnel and all i can say is that it is very very fast!

The top flyers (Thats not us by the way) can fly head down etc no problem.

You need to contact Florian at AK if you are interested since he is the one that sets up the free fly weekends.

It is worth pointing out that in my opinion the Bedford tunnel is still the one to go for if you are an experienced free flyer. Much bigger and if you live in the UK much cheaper.

We have video of free flying in the AK tunnel.

Hope that helps

Nigel

I was just gonna say Nigel and Alison are the people to speak to about Aerokart .. they've spent most of their adult lives there ;-)

And as if by magic .. they respond to you!

They actually remove a net to do this?? why do they need to remove the net to get access? How do they get into it, and are they locked in the chamber???? Oh yeah one more, is the net they remove a wire net?? What is it made of?

I have tried to contact them before but never receive a reply.

They are ALL the ones to go to for me. I am producing a documentary on the hisory of our sport, and it's facilities. I am going to every one on the planet.

How fucking cool is that? I can't wait to purchase a copy of that video Shane, stick me on the list!

I also think that every tunnel is the tunnel for me. If I can't fly well in a tunnel, its a new challenge, not the tunnel or suit's fault. Flying in different suits & environment is frustrating but fun. I know I'm not good at much but getting into different environments has REALLY improved my flying.

At SVO I have to fly with these little girls that maybe have never flown before (obv they are on their belly). I hate flying on my belly so I've learned how to sit fly/splits in sub 100 mph winds. My new suit with more drag def. helps but without my FA LV and AAC experiences (very humbling as always) there is no way I'd have been able to accomplish this. I am VERY greatful for traveling to other tunnels and flying in different environments. I'm not a super star flyer but I love to learn and tackle new challenges.
