I started really young, and got to fly a lot then, as well as when I have worked at various tunnels, I got to fly A LOT!!! I will be over to the UK in February, we should all get together for some flying at both tunnels!!!!

Besides, to me, that time is not that much at all. I know a few people with time like that 4000+ hours and probably even close to 6-10 thousand. I do know one person in particular eh hem ( me clearing my throwt) Who has more tunnel time than anyone in the world! I would hope he would say something now eh hem!

Like so many other things in life it's not the quantity that counts but the quality.

As for quantity-- we do not have enough and never will-- we need more and more and more!

As for quality-- Well we can always keep dreaming.

Did i read 4000 hours-----must need my eyes testing cus i checked again and i still see 4000hrs!

Thats 166.666666666 days!

or  23.809522 weeks approx!

I bow and scrape with shame.

Time in air is not so easy for me being in this sport 23 + years

I started flying at the young age of 14 as I have been bless in so many ways, & Lucky to still be here, flying is a way of life for me.

Most people travel walking around 15,000 hrs in a life time.I have spent at least that much time in air possible more, I had spent the first 2 years working at flyaway 14 to 16 hr days as we all wanted to skydive we had to wait till we where 16, as we all had 4 to 5 thousand hrs before  our first Jump ,as for most of us we had never even been off the ground. as different as it was it was letting birds go for the fist time out in the wild blue. Natural and aware we where able to jump and dew formations on our first jump.

Oh ya back to time?

our average it out 1,000 a year for 20 years= 1982 to 2005 = 20,000 give a few years.

I love flying & teaching people something they thought that was not possible  taming fears & fulfilling dreams all having fun, as we all have felt the influence of flight & I have been privileged to meet so many in the past that have said, bodyflight  has changed their lives forever, what a thing to be a part of. who would of thought we would all be discussing our flying passion & tunnel time.

Just fly it's all good

John, darling, you are so modest!!

I'd say 20,000 hours is fairly conservative... that's LESS than part time for 20 years... you know full well you've worked at this full time all these years...  so ok, we all gotta start counting somewhere...  I'll accept 20k but still I think it's more.

If you haven't seen John fly there are plenty of pics and videos out there.. it's like watching a bird..  we all joke that he has hollow bones.

John is a HUGE reason we are all here today and the sport can be considered a sport of it's own right... teaching millions of people to fly every year without a single parachute..

Thanks from all of us for sticking with it!

20,000+ hours is amazing John. Thanks for pioneering this sport and its growth for all of us. You are simply the best tunnel flyer I've ever seen. Since you're modest we'll sing your praises

To all addics out there:
Go fly with John, it will be an amazing experience you won't soon forget. Not to mention the whole crew at AAC will welcome u with open arms and show you a great time. Can't beat tunnel pics. w. the mountains in the background either!
