| I played tunnel tag with one of the instructors at SVO. I pretty much laughed and smiled the whole time because it was so much fun. It really works you, especially playing with the instructors, who are much better flyers than I am. I found, with my competitive nature though, that I was prone to taking them out while trying to tag them. None the less, it was fun and it makes you fly your *** off. I was more tired after this session than any other belly flying session that I ever had in the tunnel.

| | I agree. Tag is great fun and works wonders on your flying skills. Ask them to play Sumo next time but check it is ok with the staff first. Sumo is just like 3D sumo wresting. You have to defend the center of the tunnel whilst the other trys to push, flip and burble you out to the sides. Beware it can get a bit giddy at times---Ok if you got soft nets and walls but a bit rough if they are hard! By the way i bet you it would make the tunnel rats have a fit at Bedford! Nigel |

| We used to have what we would call tunnel wars all the time AFTER HOURS at Flyaway. Basically it is King of the tunnel. Rules are, whoever is in, get them out, whatever way you can. It always got really wild, but some of the funniest stuff I have ever seen!

| Tunnel tag has not worked me harder than other belly tunnel sessions because I try to work hard on my belly skills at all times, but I agree that it is extremely fun, especially if you are competitive. My first experience with tunnel tag was actually an unexpected discovery for us both, during an Airspeed camp night session with Neal Houston. We were having a blast doing some other belly drills, when he spontaneously began to belly carve around the perimeter of the tunnel, while smiling at me with his eyes. Of course, I followed suit and began carving with him forwards and backwards, then he motioned for me to chase him further. I sped up and quickly tagged him, and we instintively turned for him to chase & tag me. We were both laughing and kept chasing each other, even tagging each other while carving backwards on our bellies. This was a while ago, but I was thinking about tunnel tag, just the other day. Thanks Jenn, for reminding me of how much fun, that tunnel tag can be!

| | Wall tag - The instructor flies to a wall and touches it with their hand and the student has to touch the same place. More advanced is using feet or heads to touch the walls / bottom net. Then introducing movemets to be completed between tags i.e the coach does a 360, side slips, flies a vertical arc instead of straight to the point. Thomas Hughes takes this to the next level by taging the net in a head down daffy and then flow fall doing a 360 still in head down to move from the tag. Hand tag - Like normal tag but you can only tag your opponents hand. This encourages flying using knees and flying with ones arms behind the back. This can get quite aggressive. |
